About us – It's Raining Kats and Dolls Transcription Services

Our History

t’s Raining Kats & Dolls Transcription Services started on a whim in 1998. Owner Kathleen Johnson had worked as an Assistant Editor and Post Coordinator for several years, and became acutely aware of what Editors were looking for when it came to their transcripts. As a side hustle, she started doing transcriptions for the companies she worked for. In 2001, she started doing as-broadcast scripts as well, being very familiar with network delivery requirements. Over the next few years, she brought she brought on board freelancers from throughout the industry — producers, post supervisors, writers — as transcribers who understood the needs of our clients, providing high quality scripts and transcripts with attention to detail. Raining Kats & Dolls clients include some of the biggest producers of reality TV and documentaries. Past credits include: Naked and Afraid, My Next Guest is… with David Letterman, Hell’s Kitchen and United Shades of America with W. Kamau Bell.

They can post various formats, column scripts, spelling corrections and accurate interview transcripts even on short notice. Two years ago we sent them Time Coded audio clips from a remote interview site – by the time we returned to LA – the transcripts were ready. You can’t beat their service or pricing.
